There are a lot of situations where you need to write a document of a given size.
SmartDown helps you for this task by providing statistics and goals.
We wanted for SmartDown accurate statistics
. Hence they are generated on the transformed Markdown text and not on the raw source, which mean #,*,… are not taken into account.
SmartDown also supports meta-data (goal: is one of them, see below). meta-data are also filtered out to calculate statistics.
By default, SmartDown only shows the number of words in your document. You can access to more details by clicking it. You will then more information such as sentences and reading time.
Using statistics with SmartDown
To define a goal, simply enter in the first line
of your document the following line:
goal: xx units
– xx is the number of units you want to reach
– unit is either word or sentence
Once you’ve entered this line, SmartDown automatically analyse it and enter in Goal Mode.
Using goal in SmartDown
Your progress is recalculated automatically each time you modify the document is shown at the bottom of your document.
You can click on the progress bar to show the Goal popup where you can get the completion percentage.
